Part owner of Kilimandjaro, a Senegalese restaurant located on 4317 Chestnut Street, Youma is a native of Senegal and currently the president of “Echoes of Africa,” a program founded by Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell to promote open communication between Africans and the diaspora as well as educate other communities about African cultures. Youma is also president of the Pulaar Speaking Association in Philadelphia. The association promotes the development of Fulani culture. In 2010, she worked as a campaign coordinator for the current president of Senegal, Macky Sall.
