LaToya Samuels Wharton, MBA is a Strategic Philanthropist and an energetic, results-oriented professional who spent nearly two decades managing the practice of a Creditors Rights Attorney with a niche for enforcing judgments. Her expertise in research and document preparation contributed to the success of recovering over $100 million for clients under a wide variety of judgments. Ms. Wharton is a board member to the US-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Sibling’s Keeper (a non profit organization), Martha’s Compassion (a Ghana based NGO), and serves on the Membership Committee of the Young Caribbean Professional Network.

Part owner of Kilimandjaro, a Senegalese restaurant located on 4317 Chestnut Street, Youma is a native of Senegal and currently the president of "Echoes of Africa," a program founded by Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell to promote open communication between Africans and the diaspora as well as educate other communities about African cultures. Youma is also president of the Pulaar Speaking Association in Philadelphia. The association promotes the development of Fulani culture. In 2010, she worked as a campaign coordinator for the current president of Senegal, Macky Sall.
